Information
- Before filing for divorce, couples must meet with one of our counselors.
- Individuals cannot request or initiate divorce proceedings on behalf of other parties. Throughout the divorce process, all clients must represent themselves. If they wish, they may be accompanied.
- Divorces for couples who married abroad still require a court divorce before proceeding with the Islamic Divorce Decree.
- If the individual or couple wishes to divorce, they must first:
- Provide a written divorce request signed by both parties.
- Please provide a copy of the divorce decree.
- Please bring a photo ID.
- If a divorce/khula is granted, the client will be presented with a certificate within two weeks.
